Stop in on January 31st between 10 am and 5 pm and meet Valerie Cristo, Raku Artist. When you see Valerie's work, you'll discover the simplistic beauty of raku....Raku in it's original form was developed in the 16th century as the vessel for Zen Buddhist tea ceremonies. Today, it captures attention for its variety of flowing, expressive and vibrant, lustrous glazes. It is a natural complement to decorative jewelry and every piece is unique. When Valerie's niece Alivia was diagnosed with leukemia within a year of losing a childhood friend to brain cancer, she became acutely aware of how precious life is. A portion of each sale will be contributed to help find a cure for cancer.
